How does this sound….Waking up to a cup of one of the world’s best coffee producers before walking through one of several UNESCO world heritage sites and natural preserves, to the sound of church bells in one of the countries famous rock churches en route to the Museum to visit “Lucy” remains one of the earliest human ancestors. All this during visits to a few locations around the country to meet hand weavers, shoemakers and garment makers. We will also take part in a trade show where you will get up close and personal with more suppliers, producers and artisans and be part of a conference event too! Ready to #gofastwithus ?
Recognised during the colonial period as a symbol of African independence, Ethiopia is not just a founder member of the United Nations and the African base for many international organisations, it is not just a place of ancient culture but most significantly Ethiopia is Africa’s oldest independent country and its second largest in terms of population.
A country split by the Great Rift Valley, this landlocked country has had archaeological finds which have dated back over 3 million years. The Horn of Africa, is home to Ethiopia that for business, it is a market which has both low and high risk areas. Specifically for the fashion industry, there is an abundance of various artisan skills, traditional textiles, garment production units too and high opportunities.
